Liberty
Liberty is a
17 year old Paso Fino mare that was only hours away from
slaughter. She is healthy and happy now, and is also one of
the most well broke horses we have ever seen. She is
certainly a people horse and is a permanent resident at our
adoption facility.

Sierra
This poor old
girl is 12 years old and had pulled the Amish plow her
entire life. She was being sold for meat because she was
thought to have Navicular in her front feet. We saved her
and it turned out that her lameness problem was nothing more
than a cracked hoof and a slight case of thrush. She no
longer has a hard time with her feet and is an extremely
gentle and well broke horse. This picture is the first time
anyone had ever ridden her. Notice that Carolyn here is
riding bareback and with no bit or bridle?

Buddy
Buddy is a 10
year old grade QH gelding. He is sound and broke to ride.
Buddy is probably the most friendly horse I have ever met.
It's hard not to love this guy. He is now safe from
slaughter and will spend his remaining years as a trail
horse at a great camp in Northern
Minnesota.

Pride
Pride is a
purebred Arab stud (now a gelding)with pretty good
bloodlines. He missed his ride to Florida, so he was sent to
the local auction to be sold. He didn't look like much at
the time, but he has already grown quite a bit and is a very
personable little guy. He is sound and healthy and is a
little stinker at times too! If you have ever been to our
facility before, I'm sure you will have a hard time
forgetting Pride. Pride is now almost 3 years old and has
become the greeter to new people at the MHWF
farm.
